General Parish Information
Waswanipi is a First Nations Cree parish located in northwestern Quebec about a three hour drive north of Val-d’Or.
There is strong lay leadership in the parish as evidenced by the fact that St. Barnabas’ has recently completed the construction of a new church and parish centre.
The parish received a grant and loan from the Anglican Foundation for the building program. The building project has been underway for a number of years and significant funding has been locally raised.
