Golden Valley Church is the only English speaking church in Val d'Or. Consequently, English speaking Roman Catholics and Protestants of different stripes often find themselves attending the church for dinners, bazaars and worship. As well, due to a wonderful chemistry first discovered back in 1980 many Francophones join with our Friendship Clubs for cards and games on Tuesday afternoons in our basement.

Our church building is the former home of Val d'Or United Church. In 1980 St. Andrew's Anglican Church joined with Val d'Or United Church to form Golden Valley Church, a shared United Church/Anglican ministry. We receive outside support from the Anglican Diocese of Moosonee and the United Church of Canada. Since many Cree and most Inuit are Anglican, we are pleased to welcome these folk during temporary stays in Val d'Or or when they make Golden Valley Church their church home.
